Plastorit®
Boost durability with Plastorit
Whether you’re making industrial or decorative coatings, our Plastorit product can increase the durability and toughness of your products. Plastorit is derived from a natural mix of mica, chlorite and quartz, known as leucophyllite. This combination blends the following properties:
- Mica: elastic lamellar mineral, UV reflecting, resistant to high temperatures, hard to disperse when used alone, soft (2 on Mohs scale)
- Chlorite: lamellar structure, hydrophobic, resistant to high temperatures, soft (2 on Mohs scale)
- Quartz: blocky particle shape, easy to disperse, resistant to high temperatures, relatively hard (7 on Mohs scale), easy to disperse
The result is a mineral additive that will improve weather and scrub resistance, surface hardness, elasticity and adhesion in decorative and high performance coatings. Our Plastorit products are chemically inert, exhibit low conductivity and don't create structure viscosity. They also improve anti-cracking properties and chalking in deep color paints.
Plastorit comes in a range of grades, depending on the type of paints and coatings you’re producing, but are ideal for anti-corrosive paints, industrial paints, powder coatings, wood varnishes, road marking paints, floor coatings, plasters and even putties.
