Optimize your TiO₂ and your costs

Jetfine 1 is recommended for:

• Outdoor and indoor coatings
• Semi-gloss, satin and matt coatings
• VOC-compliant alkyd paints
• Water borne varnishes

Jetfine 1 is a high brightness grade from Imerys which has been developed using proprietary, micronizing technology to produce superior dry hiding and TiO₂ extension in decorative paints and to reduce overall cost formulation. With a top-cut of 5µm and a median particle size of just 1µm, Jetfine 1 talc is currently the finest talc* grade available on the coatings market.

Its fine particle size makes it highly effective as a partial replacement of titanium dioxide in both low and high PVC paint formulations. Due to its highly lamellar structure and ultra-fine particle size, Jetfine 1 talc enables TiO₂ levels to be reduced by between 10% and 30% with equivalent paint performance.

In low PVC paints, Jetfine 1 talc combines TiO₂ extension with excellent outdoor durability. In high PVC decorative paints, its high oil absorption and specific surface area significantly improve dry hiding and enable you to eliminate TiO₂ completely, while still achieving high opacity and brightness.

Jetfine 1 talc makes an excellent alternative to other extenders, such as opaque polymers and synthetic aluminum silicate. We recommend it for outdoor and indoor coatings; semi-gloss, satin and matt coatings; VOC-compliant alkyd paints; and water-borne varnishes and clear coats, where it provides higher transparency levels. 

As Jetfine 1 talc is made from naturally occurring, chemically inert minerals without additives, it’s exempt from EU REACH registration and compliant with EU Ecolabel criteria.
