Adhesives that stand the test of time   

We offer a wide range of engineered mineral solutions for moisture-curing and non-moisture curing adhesives with specific product solutions to suit each type of chemistry.

Moisture-curing adhesives

Imerys-engineered minerals are solutions of choice for one-component (1C) "outside-to-inside" moisture-cured adhesives used for difficult-to-bond substrates such as metals and plastics. 

We offer specific product solutions to suit each type of one-component moisture-cure chemistry: silicone, polyurethane, polysulfide and hybrid polymer systems. 

Customized solutions for polyurethane

Our ground calcium carbonates (GCC), calcined kaolins and wollastonites are effective solutions for polyurethane-based moisture-curing adhesives. 

We recommend the following ranges:

  • ImerSeal® GCCs have optimized levels of coating, including low-moisture content grades to decrease moisture scavenger content
  • ImerCarb™ and PolCarb™ cost-effective (un)coated GCC
  • Polestar® calcined kaolin that provide the correct ratio between viscosity and reinforcement
  • Nyglos® acicular shaped wollastonite to improve cohesion properties 

Polysulfide adhesives

Our engineered, coated ground calcium carbonate solutions for polysulfide adhesives include:

  • ImerSeal coated GCC for optimized levels of coating, including low particle size grades to boost mechanical properties
  • ImerCarb and PolCarb cost-effective (un)coated GCC

Hybrid polymer adhesives

We supply a wide portfolio of calcium carbonate products for improving the properties of silane-terminated polymer adhesives and sealant formulations.  

Adhesives

Our PolCarb and ImerCarb cost-effective GCC products are specifically recommended for providing correct viscosity and mechanical properties in parquet flooring hybrid polymer adhesives.

Our premium ImerSeal surface-coated GCC grades provide low moisture content, viscosity and adhesion in roofing adhesives used for EPDM and concrete bonding.

Our Socal® and Winnofil® coated PCC grades provide the right rheology and reinforcement in hybrid elastic load-bearing adhesives.

Non-moisture curing systems 

Our engineered minerals are also ideally suited to boost the properties of two-component (2C) systems. We offer specific product solutions to suit each type of two-component system chemistry: silicone, polyurethane, polysulfide, hybrid polymer and epoxy systems. 

Customized solutions for polyurethane

Imerys ground calcium carbonate (GCC), precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC), calcined kaolin and wollastonite are effective solutions for polyurethane based adhesives. 

We particularly recommend the following ranges:

  • ImerSeal GCCs for optimized levels of coating, including low-moisture content grades to decrease moisture scavenger content
  • ImerCarb and PolCarb cost-effective uncoated GCC
  • Polestar calcined kaolin provide the correct ratio between viscosity and reinforcement
  • Nyglos 4W acicular shaped wollastonite improves cohesion properties
  • Our Winnofil range is the best solution to enhance rheological properties  

Polysulfide adhesives

Our engineered calcium carbonate solutions for polysulfide adhesives include:

  • ImerSeal® 75 coated GCC with optimized level of coating including low particle size grades to boost mechanical properties
  • PolCarb cost-effective coated GCC 
  • Socal uncoated PCC to improve strength and durability
  • Winnofil PCC for good rheological properties combined with good slump properties
