Skim coat
Ensuring skim coat performance
A skim coat is to walls and ceilings what foundation is to a beauty routine. It can rejuvenate, protect and simply let the subject shine. Applied in thicknesses between 0.5 and 3mm, skim coats are diluted joint compounds used for leveling & finishing interior walls, commonly applied by hand, paint roller or spray rig and smoothed out using a drywall knife or trowel. The end result is a flat and uniform surface on walls and ceilings ready for painting or re-texturing.
Our solutions for calcium aluminate based skim coats ensure reliable performance, ease of application, rapid hardening, and rapid drying. Their unique properties also allow for controlled shrinkage and pinhole avoidance. Our TERNAL® white calcium aluminate binder, supplemented by our Peramin® range of functional additives, has been especially developed to meet the exacting needs of building chemistry formulators in terms of consistency and reactivity, fast return to service improved productivity of the construction process, flexible color choices and aesthetics with color stability over time.
