TiO2 extension - opacity
We offer a natural mineral-based product that will work alongside TiO2 to lower your costs, without any loss of quality.
Decrease your costs, not your quality
If you’re looking for a way to extend TiO2 in thermoplastic sheets and films, you should consider calcined kaolin. It’s a natural mineral that can be blended with TiO2 in plastics to lower formulation costs without losing colour and opacity.
Although it’s seen as the most effective opacifier available, TiO2 is costly. So we’ve formulated a range of products made from high-whiteness calcined kaolin that can be used to extend your supplies of TiO2 without sacrificing quality.
Our Opacilite™ Ultra is produced by a new, patented rapid heating process. The technique creates large numbers of tiny sealed voids within the clay particles, resulting in excellent opacifying properties, high whiteness and low specific gravity.
When used in combination with TiO2, the colour and opacity of thermoplastics can be maintained alongside significant cost savings.
Opacilite Ultra is suitable for the partial replacement of TiO2 in LLDPE, HDPE and polystyrene. Get in touch to find out how it can optimize your mix.
