The Position
Continuous Improvement EngineerJob Summary
The Continuous Improvement Engineer will help facilitate cross-functional teams to define and execute industrial / supply chain I-Cube / continuous improvement programs to improve cost competitiveness, efficiency of processes, practices and organizations, and to drive a continuous improvement culture across the Hub Business area.
Location: Sandersville, GA with travel to sites (approximately 50%)
In this entry level role, you will work with the Hub i3 Manager to learn the key aspects of the Imerys I Cube program.
Activities and topics will include:
Continuous Improvement program deployment across the industrial and supply chain operations by supporting the 2 legs of I3: improving Working conditions with must haves and generating margin improvement
Cultivate and promote a strong continuous improvement culture across the plants
Support analysis of processes and practices to enable safety / efficiency / quality continuous improvement initiative generation, also with the support of Imerys CoE and other BA Industrial Support Team
Support generation of detailed continuous improvement initiatives across the plants to generate savings with the leadership of I3 champions and plant managers.
Provide technical support and expertise to on-site teams for I-Cube deployment and improvement projects
Monitor progress of continuous improvement projects and related savings, including process management improvement, process modification, energy optimization
Maintain and create appropriate documentation for reports, project execution, and data analysis
Capture and communicate learning to enable best practice transfer within his/her BA and the other BAs
Key interfaces: I Cube champions, plant employees, BA i3 Coordinator, Hub Director
Assess process maturity between the sites and drive process improvements and harmonization
Demonstrate the ability to work with and influence team members functioning in a matrix environment.
Develop and implement process improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on the progress of improvement initiatives
Support the development and implementation of visual management tools (e.g., dashboards, charts)
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Exposure to Process Engineering, Operations Management and Operational Excellence program management
Strong Continuous Improvement culture and methods (project management, Kaizen, 6-sigma, value stream mapping, Fish-Bone diagram, BBZ, working capital optimization)
Strong Analytical Skills, incl. Research
Strong Problem Solving Skills
Strong Project Management Skills
Technical / Process Expertise
Ability to positively influence teams in a matrix organization
Able to organize training paths for managers of in the hubs
Green / Black belt preferred
