The Position

Hours of work including shift pattern: Monday to Friday – 8am-4pm
* Capacity and willingness to respond to afterhours needs (physically and remotely).
The Maintenance Planner & Scheduler will ensure plant performance and efficient utilisation of engineering resources and tools, defining work procedures and methods within the Maintenance framework as defined by the Group, co-ordinated and managed locally by the Manager responsible for Engineering Services.

The job role: The Maintenance Planner is responsible for engineering continuous improvement, administration of CMMS and maintenance planning/scheduling processes which includes the following but not limited to;
Prepare, schedule and allocate preventive, improvement and reactive work orders (WOs) and check WOs workflow and progress.
Participate in managing engineering statutory and good practice activities and contracts (LOLER, PSSR, PAT testing etc.).
Compile and review risk assessments and method statements and issue permits for engineering activities.
Organise and manage engineering contractors and works.
Monitor, analysis and report maintenance KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, Uptime, Plan realisation, WOs Completion ratio, WOs backlog
Develop lean manufacturing tools and reliability improvement techniques (RCA, FMEA)
Manage annual/ weekly maintenance and shutdown plans and spare parts
Participate in engineering projects’ feasibility study, technical specifications, planning, budgeting, installation, execution, commissioning and handover.
Participate in maintenance budgeting and cost controls.
Participate in execution of maintenance tasks (hands-on jobs within the capabilities and competency of the incumbent) where required.
Operating various equipment, tools and vehicles as trained for if required for execution of post holder’s duties i.e. Fork Lift Trucks, Cherry Picker.

You will: Have an Engineering/ manufacturing qualification or served an apprenticeship in engineering discipline and the following skills;
5 years proven experience and competency in a similar role in heavy production / manufacturing environment.
IT maintenance systems and CMMS. (SAP Hana experience is desirable).
Project planning techniques and tools i.e. MS Project
Maintenance management experience including preventive, proactive, condition monitoring and reliability centred (RCM) and proven experience of using performance indicators (KPIs), root cause analysis (RCA) and failure mode analysis (FMEA) tools
Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and process systems knowledge.
Reasonable understanding and experience of health and safety legislative requirements such as LOLER, PUWER, Working at Height, Confined Spaces, COSHH, and PSSR.
Understanding of LOTOTO and permit to work system.
Experience of managing people, projects and contractors.
Understanding of cost control and budget planning.
