The Position
Project Planning ManagerJob Summary
IMERYS has launched a lithium mining project (the EMILI Project) in Allier, France. The EMILI Project schedule foresees production starting in 2028, with a production target of 34,000 tons of lithium hydroxide per year for at least 25 years.
In 2022 and 2023, the project underwent a Scoping phase successfully and has entered into Pre-Feasibility Study / FEL 2 of the Commercial plant.
In 2024 the Project intends to perform the FEL 2, FEL 3 and to start the Execution of the Pilot Plants.
In 2024 & 2025, the Project intends to build and commission the Pilot Plants.
In 2025, the Project intends to contract the Definitive Feasibility Study/FEL 3 and the Execution of the Commercial plant.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Setup the overall schedule hierarchy of the project and scheduling-related processes;
- Develop and maintain a full WBS for the project, ensure consistency in all systems;
- Develop and maintain the project integrated schedule covering the entire scope, based on the information provided by the Workstream leads and Contractors;
- Specify project execution schedule requirements and deliverables from Contractors to allow integration in overall integrated schedule (structure, detail level);
- Propose organisation of IMERYS scheduling team, regarding roles on the various construction sites, and/or requirements to Workstream leads for schedule update information;
- Implement schedule assurance activities;
- Specify scheduling development and reporting requirement for Contractors, setup physical progress measurement methods in schedule or deliverable register;
- Update schedule with actual progress and update forecast;
- Implement Earned Value method for all project elements related to productivity and drive Earned Value reporting as means for forecasting cost and schedule;
- Produce weekly/monthly progress report for the project;
- Challenge the Contractors schedules in order to have the milestones respected;
- Analyse risks in case of delays together with the Project Risks Manager and alert the Project Control Director;
- Develop a high level Master schedule monitoring and advise Project Control Director on the need to engage recovery plans to meet Project timeline objectives;
- Advise Contract Managers on measures to be taken to protect the company contractually in case of delays
Education and Experience requirements:
- Master in Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of experience in scheduling for large complex projects (>500m€) on the Owner side
- Proficient with scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project)
- Advanced Excel skills
