The Position

Logistics Agent

Job Summary

Context :

The BE Lixhe site is considered as a key location for Imerys EMEA and serves with an important logistic platform large volumes to global destinations. The established facility handles massive tons of minerals in dry or liquid form and uses transport solutions of all possible logistics modalities. The logistics team is responsible for the operational transport coordination and execution of all outbound supplies.
 

Responsabilities :

  • Organise transport  / Bookings and follow up up to despatch and beyond (late collections, operational issues, documentation issues - Assure transport bookings through TMS (Transwide), issue Delivery Notes and all related documents) 
  • Operational logistics execution and coordination of assigned logistics categories / logistics modes and related activities for Imerys IMB minerals.
  • Possible logistics categories include Ocean Freight, Barging, Storing, Road pack & bulk haulage, Rail Transportation, etc.
  • Logistics, customs  and stock administration.  
  • Closely liaise and communicate with internal stakeholders, departments (Purchase, CS, other Logistics, S&OP, sales,...) to fully understand requirements and constraints
  • Maintain effectively carrier relationships, volume commitments, rates and service levels.
  • Support success and failures to improve transport efficiency and secure continuous contribution to the quality of our logistics service.
  • Being able to backup colleague’s logistics activities.
  • Work closely with Site in particular Operation & Production planning to ensure we load as per production plan and customers demand.
  • Work closely with Customer Services to provide visibility on loading plan and flag any issues. 
  • Work closely with Purchasing team to load as per tender, request new quotes for new destinations etc... 
     

Accountability :

  • Contribute to the OTIF and customer satisfaction
  • Contribute to the claims KPIs
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe personal environment and acting safely at all times.
  • Fully supports the location’ health, safety and environmental (HSE) programs by participating in their implementation, maintenance, enforcement and compliance with company’s programs


Competencies and Experience :

Key competencies:

  • Able to express in French & English (Dutch and/or German is an extra asset)
  • Tools: knowledge of SAP (S4 Hana)  and Google suite is a plus
  • Strong logistics business sense.
  • Knowledge of different transport modes and custom clearance
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing environments 
  • Rigorous compliance with procedures and processes 
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage priorities
  • Analysis and problem solving and result oriented
  • Team player and positive personality
  • Reactivity and stress management during peaks of activity
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with different stakeholders

Educational & Relevant experience: 

  • Bachelor in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
  • Minimum 3-5 years of logistics experience
