Job Summary

Job Summary

Support PM APAC-wide effort to ensure the portfolio of products is in compliance with product safety and regulatory requirements while meeting customer expectations

Job Scope

  • Direct reporting to: PM APAC Product Steward Manager

  • Resources/team: Individual contributor

  • Key external stakeholders: customers, governmental agencies, industrial associations, scientific communities

Responsibilities

  • Support regulatory and safety compliance of domestic, import and export products to all applicable regulations and product standards in APAC countries and destination countries

  • Support identification of product-specific hazards and define/carry out testing protocols, registration and certification of products via a managed network of local 3rd party providers/labs

  • Prepare APAC GHS SDSs and Labels for customers, and support related documentary work

  • Provide fast and accurate responses to APAC customer Product Stewardship enquiries

  • Represent company on external trade groups and teams and discuss with regulators to support PM APAC business objectives

  • Ensure progressive harmonization of testing protocols across all operational sites and testing labs

  • Maintain and interpret mineral/chemical supplier’s composition data for hazard assessments and communication

  • Support key Product Stewardship functional excellence projects focused on instilling best practices throughout the organization through the leveraging of effective processes, systems, policies and tools.

Accountability

  •  Product Portfolio Accountability with respect to Regulatory Compliance: Product Stewardship position actively addresses regulatory compliance and environmental health and safety concerns pertaining to the portfolio of products within PM APAC. This position will ensure that we continue to meet current and future product regulatory compliance requirements

  • Develop reliable 3rd party consulting partners for compliance/registration  

Competencies and experience

  • Key competencies

    • Strong problem solving skills and ability to react flexibly in fast-changing situations

    • Good understanding of chemical product regulations impacting relevant market/geography

    • Knowledge of Life Science and Analytical skills and knowledge of Global regulations (REACH, FCM, Cosmetics, Pharma, Animal Feed, Pesticide and other worldwide notifications) are highly desired

    • Familiarity with key country, China, South Korea, India and/or Japan product safety regulations

    • Ability to research and interpret regulations and can give impact analysis 

    • Ability to work independently and/or in cross-functional teams

    • Ability to perform in a tight deadline with multiple priorities

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with people both internally and externally

    • Able to travel as necessary

  • Ideal background/ experience

    • Bachelor or Master in chemistry or relevant disciplines 

    • At least 3 years experience in regulatory affairs, Pharmaceutical or cosmetical industry experience is preferred

    • Experienced in Fluent in English
