Job Summary

Plant Equipment Oiler 

One (1) position

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance 

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisors 

PRIMARY DUTIES

Follows predefined lubrication routes to oil and grease plant equipment. 

Makes notes, edits and additions to routes in order to maintain the best lubrication program possible. 

Lubricate all equipment according to manufacturer's recommendations and in-house policy. 

Makes a concerted effort to add the correct amount of grease to all bearings. 

Cleans excess grease from grease fittings and bearings when servicing bearings.

 Perform oil changes in all equipment at time specified by manufacturer’s recommendations or in-house policy. 

Draw oil samples for testing. 

Keep records of all lubrication and oil change schedules on each piece of equipment

 Utilizes computer tablets and/or company cell phones to track lubrication tasks. 

Utilizes Ultrasound technology to understand when bearings need grease in order to ensure proper lubrication. 

Perform basic lubrication equipment maintenance (change pumps, fix leaks, minor pipe fitting, or comparable equipment) 

Maintain clean work area 

Utilize basic work orders 

Operate forklifts, manlifts, and other equipment as trained. 

Perform oil changes on small mobile equipment as needed. 

Other miscellaneous duties. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Must be willing to attend training and become certified in Lubrication Best Practices (MLT1) and Ultrasound Technology 

2. Personal safety/health protection is required including eye, head, foot, and hearing. 3. Ability to work in a team environment. 

4. Good communication skills: verbal, written, reading and listening. 

5. Ability to use power hand tools. 

6. Ability to work in all types of weather. The majority of work is performed outdoors. 7. Valid driver’s license. 

8. Ability to operate equipment. 

9. Ability to comprehend technical directions. 

10. Walking, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, working with hands, handling objects and tools, standing, and finger dexterity. 

11. Other duties as required. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

Lubrication knowledge and previous training is preferred. 

Knowledge of bearings and power transmission is preferred. 

Onsite maintenance and equipment operating experience preferred. 

4 years minimum experience in an industrial environment. 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Working Conditions: Job includes both inside and outside duties in varying weather conditions. Activities include considerable walking and standing on various floor levels.
