Position Title: Inventory Control and Purchasing Manager
Department/Location: Purchasing/Administrative Office, Plant, and Storeroom
Reports to: Site Manager
Job Scope:
Sourcing, Purchasing, and Inventory Mgmt.
Job Summary:
Responsible for managing inventory of packaging, spare parts and consumables. Execute procurement and purchasing according to Imery's guidelines. Determine, track and report procurement spend and budgets utilizing appropriate KPI’s. Manage procurement activities to provide for effective category, Capital Expense projects and site specific logistics sourcing based upon quality, cost and delivery of goods and services. Manage MRO Warehouse operations in a safe and effective manner. Optimize MRO / Spare Part inventories to achieve balance between inventory availability and inventory investment.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Understands and interprets current and future market conditions, risks and opportunities for purchase categories to determine appropriate acquisition and negotiation strategies.
Negotiates purchase price, terms, delivery methods, and warranties for products and services; manage RFQ and bid process for smaller purchases
Work with RAC USA Purchasing Manager for purchases above threshold.
Manages current contracts to ensure supplier adherence to contractual obligations.
Provide procurement support and assistance for Capital Expense projects.
Analyzes Supplier spend, terms and conditions for opportunities to improve cash flow.
Communicates procurement issues that affect day to day operations to responsible Plant or Business Unit managers.
Reviews and analyzes store room activities; receiving, parts transactions, cycle counts and inventory investment.
Establishes procurement and warehousing process and procedures to be followed by Niagara Falls personnel.
Assesses vendor capabilities, develops and qualifies alternate sources, manages and evaluates supplier performance.
Ensures compliance to Corporate, Business Unit and Purchasing policies and procedures; monitors compliance as required.
Reports monthly and quarterly results of purchasing initiatives, KPI’s and PPV analysis.
Establishes effective Supplier relationships and communications.
Through effective leadership, manages the Purchasing Department by establishing appropriate goals, objectives and personal development plans.
Manage Maintenance contractors when on site
Skills and Attributes Requirements:
Demonstrated leadership and management skills in developing, implementing and executing action plans.
Excellent “teaming” skills. Able to work effectively cross functionally.
Excellent communications skills, including verbal, written and listening skills.
Strong budgeting, cost management and inventory management skills.
Strong negotiating and problem solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, preferred
Minimum 4 years of purchasing experience in procurement in a production / manufacturing environment.
Leadership experience
Demonstrated experience utilizing ERP software, SAP preferred.
Google suite of products, preferred
Inventory management experience
Environment:
Work is performed in an office environment with coordination activities occasionally being conducted in a factory environment.
The position requires the ability to lift/and carry objects less than 20 lbs; sitting at workstation for moderate periods of time; talking/hearing on a telephone and in-person, vision required for reading and operating a computer.
Compensation Range: $70,000 - $85,000 Depending on experience
