Global Category Manager - Business Travel & Corporate services H/FJob Summary
Context
Imerys Group Purchasing department is a global organization managing around 4BUSD/year.
Within this organization the Indirect Purchasing Direction is managing all purchases related to general supplies and services.
The Indirect spend is ~500M€ worldwide.
The Indirect Purchasing Direction is composed of 15 people administrating and managing categories at global or geo level.

- 4 Category Managers (France;US;India)
- 3 purchasing specialists (Greece;Americas (dotted line))
- 3 procurers
- 1 Travel manager (Greece)
Indirect purchasing department role is to:
- Meet the needs of internal customers in compliance with the group purchasing policy
- Define and manage RFx (RFI;RFP;RFQ) through digital suite (Ivalua)
- Conclude framework contracts
- Manage strategic suppliers (activity reviews, expense management, optimization)
- Communicate internally on the role of purchasing to capture new needs
- Demonstrating its expertise in tackling greenfields
- Contribute to the group's environmental and digital roadmaps
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
The global category manager for business travel and corporate services is the primary contact for business travel globally and Imerys corporate purchases.
Commodities managed are:
-Business travel (TMC; airlines; hotels; short term car rental; payment systems); long term car rental
- Marketing and communication (stand design; exhibition; communication agencies..)
- Meetings and events (seminars..) general services….
Scope is primary Europe and North America (as more mature), and to be extended to other geo’s through category manager coordination.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Business travel:
- Be the single point of contact for her/his scope
- Administrate and manage contracts optimization.
- Negotiate all contracts with airlines, car rental (short & long term),payment systems, travel agencies. Manage corporate hotel program through yearly RFP.
- Define and implement best strategies for the Group
- Define, build and communicate business travel KPI’s to top management and functions.
- Work with the support of in house travel manager and IT team to make sure the booking tool is up to date with Imerys travel rules and corporate conditions.
- Manage suppliers business reviews; stay aware of the market
- Take actions on transversal subjects (cash management; sustainability…)
- Have routines with key stakeholders (HR, finance…) and be proactive (ex: company cars management)
Corporate purchases
- Support and manage meeting and events needs for the different departments of the group (stand design;exhibition….)
- Manage suppliers and contract for Imerys HQ (maintenance,cleaning, general supplies…)
- Develop and implement playbooks/best pratices for other corporate purchases (marketing;communication; general services…)
● Work in close collaboration with internal stakeholders and team members
● Management (functional) : travel manager, potential other supporting resources (nearshore;offshore)
● Follow the purchasing process (RFx), report purchasing performance, collect suppliers reportings
● Manage key suppliers business reviews, control T&C’s compliance
● Market awareness : markets evolution follow-up, indicators communication
● Communicate on categories news and achievement
● Supportive of purchasing digitalization (E-procurement)
JOB SPECIFICATION
- Minimum 8 to 10 years’ experience in purchasing and business travel
- Business travel ecosystem knowledge mandatory with proven tracks
- French/English : Fluent
- Strong communication skills
- Strong analytical skills; strategic view
- Adaptable; curious;diplomat
