Job Summary

Job title: Electrical / Mechanical Engineer 

Location: St Austell 

Salary: Up to £41K (shift allowance included) dependent on qualification, skills and experience

Hours of work including shift pattern:

Day shift work: Requires to be on a standby rota of 1 in 5 weeks, linked to the shift pattern.  An additional annual payment applies based on the number of people of the rota.


 

Week 1: 7am – 7pm - Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun (Wed & Thurs off)  

Week 2: 7am – 7pm Wed & Thu (Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun off)

The job role: You will carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance to process equipment, maintaining and improving the optimisation of the processing plant through root cause analysis and continuous improvement techniques plus project work. Some of your responsibilities include:

  • Routine preventive, corrective & breakdown maintenance of electrical & mechanical systems including fault finding & diagnostic works.

  • Carry out maintenance reporting and handovers to relevant stakeholders.

  • Assist with planning and support of tasks with material ordering and maintenance requirements.

  • Utilise the safe systems of work and risk assessments for all work undertaken.

  • Ensure the site is compliant via maintenance to the regulatory control systems.

  • Liaising and cooperating with operations to ensure correct prioritisation of work. 

  • Ability to calibrate and diagnose faults on instrumentation systems.

You will: Have served a recognised indentured/advanced modern electrical/mechanical engineering apprenticeship and/or be cross skilled from electrical to mechanical and have the following skills/ experience;

  • Maintenance of mechanical and electrical process equipment.

  • Process instrumentation and control systems. 

  • Experience working with burners/furnaces/gas would be an advantage.

  • A high level of Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness.

  • Actively sustain existing and implement new continuous improvement suggestions.

  • Demonstrate problem solving skills (RCA).

  • Be flexible to work in different areas as required and have the ability to work to demanding and changing priorities.
