Job Summary

Job Title: Production Planner

Location: Gleason, TN or Sandersville, GA

Job Summary:

​Serve as a liaison between production, customer service, freight forwarding, sales, product management and S&OP

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Schedules, weekly, and monthly production for the operations. Highlights any issues to the sites.

  • Assists in preparation and presentation of Monthly Sales and Operations Plan (SOP).

  • Develops and manages good relations with Customer Service, Sales Department and Product Management, in order to resolve any issues that may be product demand and/or capacity related.

  • Assist in managing finished good inventory levels at Gleason, Crenshaw, Sandersville Air Float, Sandersville Calcine and Langley plants

  • Processes rail and truck shipments in SAP (ERP System) daily.

  • Resolves Accounts Payable freight issues as required.

  • Provides Accounting/Finance with end of the month reporting for all external/internal shipments.

Other Important Functions:

  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.  Frequently communicates with Operations personnel, Customer Service, Product Management, Sales Group, Quality Assurance, Information Technology in order to provide and obtain information.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor of degree in Business, Logistics or related field or 2 years' experience in a working in a production ERP environment. 

  • Strong computer skills required including knowledge/experience of Excel, Word, PowerPoint; SAP Hana experience, preferred.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with people from all levels of the organization as well as outside vendors and customers.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Detail oriented.

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks effectively.

  • Problem solving and ability to prioritize issues related to the efficient operation of the plant (production) and fulfillment of external demand.

  • 10% travel to other locations

Specific Aspects:

  • Office environment primarily, minimal plant environment.

  • Sitting frequently, walking and standing.

  • Some travel required between production/shipping facilities.

  • Normal work day is 8 hours, Monday through Friday; however, after hours work is required in emergency situations.
