The Position

Plant Purchasing Manager - Sourcing

Job Summary

  • Ensures compliance with the purchasing process, policies and other statutory requirements.
  • Develops and implements effective sourcing strategies that are aimed at maximising the delivery of TCO reduction, inclusive procurement, sustainability, EBITDA and other business performance objectives.
  • Execute the end-to-end sourcing process while improving contract coverage, inclusive procurement, purchasing savings and other relevant KPIs.
  • Identifies, defines and implements Inclusive Procurement, B-BBEE and Enterprise & Supplier Development (ESD) strategies in line with set objectives.
  • Identifies, defines and implements Inclusive Procurement and ESD opportunities for the benefit of Host Community Businesses.
  • Responsible for Inclusive Procurement, B-BBEE and ESD reporting
  • Evaluate supplier performance and makes recommendations for improvement 
  • Effective planning and project management of sourcing initiatives
  • Responsible for the contracting process as part of sourcing events
  • Accountable for achieving agreed KPI’s and their reporting.
  • Respects all site safety rules including those applicable for the safe engagement of contractors and visitors.
  • Is actively involved in safety issues on site and undertakes regular safety observations.
  • Is committed to his/her own safety
  • Contributes actively to Health & Safety activities
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
  • Effectively contributes towards the company’s sustainable development objectives
  • Is committed to developing his/her Health & Safety performance
