The Position

Job Title: Geologist
Location: Andersonville, GA
Hours: Typical working hours are Monday through Friday- 8:00 – 5:00. Occasionally weekend work to complete major projects on time.
Job Summary:
The Geologist contributes to the maintenance and development of the Mineral Resources and Reserves through drill program design and monitoring, core logging and sampling, drill database management, and geological modelling. The Geologist also supports the Mine Engineer and mining operations as needed through drone surveys, surveying, land management, and other miscellaneous field projects.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field.
Minimum of 2 years of general geology or related experience.
Computer literacy and sufficient skills in spreadsheets, digital presentations, and databases.
Knowledge of drilling methods and drilling operations.
Familiarity with GIS software.
Experience with core logging and sampling. Knowledge of sampling methodology and statistical analysis.
Possession of Remote UAS Pilot license or ability to acquire license.
Experience with GPS systems and knowledge of surveying basics.
Ability to identify and interpret geological maps.
Surpac and/or Leapfrog experience a plus.
Liaison:
Frequently communicate with mine personnel, crude lab, and drilling contractors.
Willing to initiate contact and maintain relations with property owners.
Occasionally communicate with senior management regarding subjects such as drill program progress and budgeting.
This position requires some analytical skills and problem solving for determining drill hole locations, assay data evaluation, and geological map interpretation.
Ability to perform field tasks in a Georgian summer is also required.
