The Position
Car CleanerJob Summary
Communicate with Shift Foreman to see what is scheduled to ship. Inspect and clean all railcars. Record all seals and place them on the bottom of the cars. Observe railroad crew to ensure proper placement of rail cars. Place blue flags up after train leaves. Tighten all hand brakes Clean work area to ensure proper functioning and safe working conditions. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Manually reposition bags on pallets when necessary.
Skills and Attributes Requirements
Communication skills required to receive shipment instructions from the Shift Foreman as well as communication with the railroad employees, Must be detailed oriented and able to multi-task to ensure that the shipments are ready to leave the plant when sealed, Reading and writing skills for paperwork and safety instructions.
