Operations Manager - Nadiad

Job Summary

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems

  • Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, and other operational reports, to detect production problems

  • Maintain the full compliance in the Plant on Imerys safety protocol, Factories act , Labour act and local statutory regulations.

  • Maintain a very high EHS standard in the plant meeting or surpassing the Imerys Safety System requirements. 

  • Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personnel grievances

  • Initiate and coordinate inventory and cost control programs

  • Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records

  • Set and monitor product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality

  • Review plans and confer with technical support team to develop new products and processes

  • Institute employee suggestion or involvement programs

  • Coordinate and recommend procedures for facility and equipment maintenance or modification, including the replacement of machines

  • Direct and coordinate production, processing, distribution, and marketing activities of industrial organization

  • Develop budgets and approve expenditures for supplies, materials, and human resources, ensuring that materials, labour and equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets

  • Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints

  • Capex knowledge, Production /Maintenance, Statutory Compliance, KPI Tracking, Kaizen Concept, Resources allocation and optimization

  • Maintaining the blending operations and its parameters to achieve best production efficiency  

  • Guidance to preventive and breakdown maintenance to the team, Spare parts Management 

  • Identification and implementation Saving Road Map

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education and Experience requirements:

  • Degree in Ceramics Engineering , Material engineering, Chemical/Mechanical or equivalent 

  • Person from Ceramics industry with knowledge of sanitary ware , tiles or mineral processing industry.

  • Good knowledge of mineral processing, Ceramic raw material & engineered clays 

  • 10-15 years of experience managing operation projects.. Regional exposure would be appreciated.

  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

  • Strong working knowledge in MS office apps and Google workspace apps , Data visualization tools

  • Committed and autonomous. 

  • Self-motivated, ability to lead and motivate the team.

  • Ability to communicate and work with all levels of management & cultures.

  • Used to working in a complex global/ matrix organization.

  • Good negotiation and influencing skill.

  • Organized and rigorous, pay attention to details.

  • Operational experience in production environment. 

  • Finance knowledge for project appraisal. 

  • Capital investment budgeting/ planning and execution experience.

  • Extended HSE knowledge.
