The Position

Mechanical Maintenance & Technical Office Manager

Job Summary

Reporting to the Site Manager, the Mechanical Maintenance and Technical Office Manager ensures industrial maintenance of production workshops and infrastructure in compliance with safety, quality and environmental rules and within the allocated budget. He works closely with the Electrical Maintenance manager and production departments to ensure the optimal operation of installations in order to reduce breakdowns and optimize scheduled downtime. Always looking for improvement, he participates in the overall modernization of industrial facilities in collaboration with the various departments (EHS, production, quality, purchasing, process and continuous improvement) and carries out improvement projects. 

The Mechanical Maintenance and Technical Office Manager carries out the following missions:

Health, Safety and Environment:

  • Enforces all rules and protocols relating to health and safety to his team and to external companies under his responsibility

  • Fosters the safety culture on a daily basis (Exemplarity, leadership, field presence, setting expectations towards employees, appropriation of standards) 

  • Communicates the rules clearly, ensures their good understanding and the support of his team 

  • Supports the implementation of new procedures and tools 

  • Conducts regular audits and leads the various safety meetings in his department 

  • Proposes working conditions improvements and implements the necessary measures 

  • Promotes environmentally friendly behaviours

People Development:

  • Manages, leads and develops his employees (Team of 9 people) 

  • Defines the targets to be achieved for the service 

  • Sets individual objectives for his employees via individual interviews 

  • Proposes a development plan to his employees via professional interviews

Maintenance Management

  • Manages the performance of the maintenance department using clear and relevant performance indicators 

  • Plans and organizes preventive and corrective maintenance interventions 

  • Prioritizes activities optimizing equipment downtime while ensuring good coordination with all services, and in particular production needs 

  • Coordinates and supervises all work carried out by external maintenance companies in collaboration with his team 

  • Coordinates preventive maintenance work and investment during the 2 major shutdowns of the factory in summer and winter, he is responsible for the preparation and planning process 

Technical Office

  • Creation and follow up of the annual CAPEX budget

  • Responsible for new installations and modifications of existing equipment or infrastructure

Operational effectiveness

  • Ensures the deployment of 5S in the department in collaboration with the continuous improvement engineer 

  • Participates in the development of the investment plan and the annual performance plan with a 5-years vision 

  • Implement best practices of reliability and improve performance by monitoring indicators

Other:

The list of missions is not restrictive and can evolve according to the needs and current events of the sites.

Profile

  • Industrial engineering degree (preferably Mechanical)

  • Advanced technical skills in Mechanics, Electricity or Automation are a plus 

  • Successful experience of at least 5 years of experience in an industrial environment 

  • Knowledge of Google tools, MS Office software, Autocad

  • Knowledge of SAP ERP

  • Basic knowledge of budgetary management and fixed assets. 

  • Demonstrated leadership, managerial experience, ability to lead change, sense of written and oral communication 

  • Result-oriented, strong spirit of initiative and driver of improvement 

  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and cross-functional team 

  • English fluent 

  • Occasional travel
