The Position

Commercial Vice President, South America

Job Summary

The Commercial Vice President is responsible for managing all commercial activities for this business.  The position is accountable for developing and executing top line growth strategies for the Paints, Rubber, Plastics, Board, Ceramics, Filtration and Life Sciences  (Performance Minerals)  market segments. 

Main Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing Sales, Marketing, Tech Service, Customer Service, and Product Management  functions in South America 

  • Sets overall growth strategy for each segment in coordination with North American and IMERYS global teams.

  • Responsible for developing new products and new business opportunities by leveraging Operations and Science & technology teams in the Americas

  • Responsible for nurturing long-term customer relationships and driving Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools

  • Responsible for achieving short-term and long-term profit and cash growth of South America. 

  • Ensures tight coordination with PM Americas Operations, PM Americas Business Planning (S&OP), S&T and is supported by Finance and HR Business Partners.

  • Leads high performance team through appropriate management rituals and attracts, develops and retains team members in his/ her perimeter (beyond direct reports) 

  • Responsible for embodying One Imerys Approach, specifically collaboration with other BAs for common customers and markets

  • Act as a key member of the BA management team

  • Drives transformation and implements new organization and ways of working for his/her perimeter

Accountability:

  • Full P&L accountability: sales to EBITDA and accounts receivables

  • Year-on-Year profit growth even in challenging market conditions

  • Imerys’ long-term customer relationships

  • Successful new product development in South America markets

  • Team and people growth (incl. Coaching and development plans of direct reports)

  • Effective and customer-centric organization

  • Leads fast and effective new product development through to commercialization

Background & Experience Requirements:

  • MBA or Master of Science in Management or Degree in Economics, Business or Finance

  • Minimum 15 years of work experience, including 5-10 years of leadership roles and highly successful commercial and strategy roles, including in industry

  • Must be fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese
