France - Wood Fuel Project in Clay Roof Tiles & Bricks Division

The aim is to develop the plantation and intensive culture of young trees on our lands to produce fuel wood for our roof tile plants.

The wood could be used directly in burners that produce hot air for injection into the drying/firing circuit. The first trees offering - 2 to 10 times greater productivity than conventional afforestation - began in southwest France in late 2008. Eucalyptus, locusts and poplars are planted extremely densely in short rotation coppices, making a cutting/harvest cycle of 2-4 years possible. Once verified, the project may be extended to all sites for the drying phase in the medium term.

Depuis 2005, notre périmètre de reporting Développement Durable englobe toutes les activités sur lesquelles nous exerçons un contrôle opérationnel.
